Why do we recommend PTE?

Even though most of us are a bit more familiar with IELTS, we believe that PTE is the way to achieve the score you need to pave the way to achieve your goals, and here is why:

The Assessment Mechanism

The assessment for the PTE is automated and done by a computer algorithm, which means that no person is listening to your speaking and no one is physically analyzing your writing. In the PTE Academic, it’s all done by the automated software that Pearson has developed. As the scoring in the PTE is done by a computer, there is no scope for any human bias in the results.

IELTS, on the other hand, has examiners to conduct the speaking section of the test. You need to interact with them as part of the assessment. In the writing section, an examiner will read through your writing tasks and give you a grade.

Since PTE is entirely computer-based, external factors such as appearance and attitude will not affect your scores. This makes the PTE scores more objective and fair as there is no human error associated with it.

It is easier to achieve a higher score in Writing on PTE

The majority of the IELTS takers don’t achieve their desired score because they fall short in the writing section. In PTE, unnecessary pressure with regard to this is reduced, and here is why.

In the Writing section of PTE, you have two types of questions.
1) A summary, where we can use a very simple technique to boost your score.
2) An essay, which can be easily tackled by the use of a template.

On top of that, there are other types of questions in the Reading and Listening modules that contribute to your Writing score, which means that you do not only depend on those two types of questions to score points on your Writing section.

You don’t depend only on one band to achieve your score in PTE

Many questions contribute points in more than one band. For example, a question in Speaking will give you points for Speaking and Reading. So you won’t depend entirely on only a few questions on a certain band to achieve your desired overall score.

Different from IELTS, in PTE, you will have many types of questions that will test you in different skills to help you ace your test.

Official Mock Test with Official AI

You can find plenty of preparation materials for both PTE and IELTS with a simple google search, however, only PTE offers an official Mock Test that uses the same Artificial Intelligence as the real test! This is a massive advantage because, with only a fraction of the cost of the real test, you can have an insight of your prospective performance in the real PTE Academic.

IELTS, on the other hand, does not have such a tool. There is no way to know how well you will perform until you take the actual test and know your score. This could lead to one or more reattempts which, at the end of the day, means less money in your pocket and longer time investment to achieve your score.

The main difference is that PTE is a computer-based test that is scored by an algorithm (a machine). This means that with the right techniques and some practice, you can find your way through the system to maximize your score.
