Everything you need to know to get a 65+ PTE Academic score

65 score PTE Academic

Are you taking the PTE soon and need to get a 65+ PTE Academic score? Although this isn’t a low score to get, it’s very possible to achieve it with the right techniques, so let’s go through some of the things you need to know!

Be very familiar with the test

As strange as it may sound for a proficiency test, the most important thing to do well isn’t knowing English, it’s knowing the actual exam: how many questions there are in each module, what you should do in each one, and so on.

Learn which questions are important or not.

We talk a lot about this during the course, but not all questions on PTE Academic weigh the same. Some of them hold next to no impact on your PTE Academic score and, therefore, you shouldn’t waste time on them. Knowing which questions to focus on is paramount to get a good score.

Know the technicalities of important questions.

There are some details you should focus on for each question. In Re-order Paragraph, for example, you get points per pair of paragraphs and not actually the order they are in. In Write From Dictation, you can’t lose more than 3 points, in FIB Reading and Writing you can’t lose more than 2.

Focus on improving your time-management

This goes hand in hand with the previous tips. You need to be able to distribute your time wisely when taking the PTE Academic. You have a specific amount of time to do each module and sometimes each question, so focus on managing that time well when studying for your exam.

Follow a study plan focused on a 65+ PTE Academic score

Some people don’t know this, but your study plan should be focused on the score you need to achieve. This means that if you need a +65 Overall Score, your study plan should be specifically tailored to that need.

Do weekly Mock Tests

We’re always stressing how important it is to take mock tests when studying for the PTE, so you can get familiar with the exam and also track your progress. You can take the official Pearson ones, or the non-official ones, just keep in mind that the results for the latter aren’t accurate!

Study with a PTE expert

There are a lot of different things you need to focus on when studying for the PTE and at times it can get really overwhelming. That’s why taking a specialized course can help you take the weight of organizing your studies off your shoulders and give you time to focus on actually studying!

Give yourself enough time to study

We’ve had students before who had little time to study for the PTE and were able to pass the exam with our help. However, the ideal thing when you’re trying to get a 65+ PTE Academic score is for you to start preparing early. Don’t leave your preparation to the last minute, start today!
