What are the changes on the Student Visa Application Process? 

The new GS is designed to identify genuine candidates seeking a quality education in Australia, without hidden immigration intentions, during the Student Visa Application Process. 

Instead of the traditional statement of purpose, applicants will now respond to more specific questions, providing a deeper understanding of their experiences and motivations for choosing Australia as their study destination.

What questions will be asked?

The questions in the Student Visa Application Process  will include details about their current circumstances, family ties, financial situation, and reasons for choosing the course and the country. Additionally, candidates will need to explain the benefits of the course to them and how it aligns with their academic and professional goals.

The statement for the student visa will also be updated to ensure that candidates fully understand the visa conditions. They will need to confirm that they understand the meaning of being a genuine student in Australia, agree to comply with the visa conditions, and understand that pathways to permanent residency after studies are limited.

These changes will apply to visa applications submitted on March 23, 2024. If you have already submitted your application before this date, your student visa application will be processed according to the previous.
