Whether you’re preparing for the PTE by yourself or with a PTE preparation course (which we do recommend that you do), online PTE preparation tools can make all the difference in your study and progress. Here are some tips and recommendations of how to use them in the best way possible.
Using trustworthy websites and sources
The first thing you should make sure of is that you’re using websites that have actual PTE Academic questions and that can give you trustworthy information about the structure of the exam, as well as the strategies and techniques you can and should use. We’ll see some of them in this article.
Look into an online preparation course
Even if you are used to studying on your own in general, when it comes to the PTE, it’s better to be safe than sorry. Even though the PTE is one of the easiest exams in terms of getting the score you need, it’s also the details that will make the difference. Learning from an expert will ensure that.
Are there options of courses online?
Yes! Because the PTE Academic is an entirely computer-based test, you can find many courses that are online. Some of them will be through video calls, some of them will be through self-learning online platforms and some will be a mixture of both. You just have to find the right one for you.
Use online learning platforms
There are many free PTE preparation websites that you can use to practise PTE exercises, do mock tests and get familiar with the exam overall. You can check out some that we recommend at PTE Smart such as APEUNI and PTE Success. These websites use real PTE Academic questions.
Non-official PTE mock tests
These websites usually also offer free non-official PTE mock tests. They can be a good tool for you to experience what it’s like to take the full test. However, they are not corrected by the official Pearson AI, therefore, you shouldn’t trust their scores. Use them to analyse your mistakes instead.
Official PTE mock tests
You can also take the official Pearson mock test. Even though they aren’t free, they are corrected by the official AI and will give you an accurate result. This can be a good idea, as practising on random scattered exercises won’t give you the same experience as taking the full test.
Look up blogs such as this one!
At the PTE Smart website, we have a myriad of articles talking about the PTE Test, containing tips and tricks for people who are studying for the exam. There are many websites where you can find this type of content, including the official Pearson website. Make use of that.
We also have social media nowadays.
If reading blogs isn’t exactly your cup of tea (in which case, thank you very much for getting this far), you can also check out Youtube channels, Instagram and TikTok profiles made by PTE professionals. We always post tips and even practices on the PTE Smart Instagram account!
